Subject Overview:

Geography at Uxbridge High School is about building global citizenship. Through an exciting, broad and rigorous curriculum, our students are introduced to all key components of the discipline of Geography. Our curriculum is underpinned by our key objects - space, place, scale, & development and impact, ensuring students are provided with a comprehensive and dynamic world view. It is our ambition that all geographers at UHS feel informed and empowered to promote change.

Geography is an exciting opportunity to explore the planet we call home. Geography provides us with an opportunity to understand the world around us and gain cultural awareness beyond our immediate locale.

What are the career opportunities for students who study this subject?

Geography is an incredibly broad and facilitating subject and provides a plethora of employable skills. Geographers go on to provide their expertise in the field of International relations, civil service, local governance and beyond.

Beyond the classroom

Geography offers fantastic opportunities beyond the classroom. At UHS we offer trips to interactive Tropical Rainforest Environments, local river systems and the Stratford Olympic Park.
