Subject overview:

• We ensure that our KS3 curriculum provides a strong foundation for GCSE Study at KS4. This involves embedding rigorous texts that stretch and challenge our pupils whilst exposing them to key knowledge and skills that underscore their later study.

• We offer 3 plays from the Renaissance era that allow students to become familiar with Shakespeare and his contemporaries. 

• Students are constantly assessed through our DPR platform, which involves no retrospective marking but rather provides a continuous cycle of feedback that is visible for all parents and guardians.
   

Why study this subject?

• Students are constantly assessed to ensure they are making progress, but rather than provide a level, DR feedback is used to trigger a continuous cycle of improvement.

• Students are set 2 pieces of homework per week. The first is a 30-minute session of Bedrock - a vocabulary and grammar interactive platform. The second is 30 minutes of Post and Prep - a booklet designed to test students on what they have already learned as well as prepare them for what knowledge is to come.
