Uniform and Equipment

From September 2026, the school will continue its phased transition to the new navy uniform. Students in Years 7 to 9 will wear the new navy uniform, whilst students in Years 10 and 11 may continue to wear the current black uniform during the transition period.

 

MAIN SCHOOL UNIFORM 

 Year 7 - Year 9 (from September 2026)

Students in Years 7 to 9 are required to wear the new navy school uniform.

Compulsory Items

  • Navy blazer with school crest and gold trim
  • Navy tie with gold crest
  • Navy pleated skirt with gold trim (if wearing a skirt)
  • Plain navy or charcoal trousers (no leggings, jeans or tight-fitting trousers - please refer to our uniform supplier for approved styles)
  • Plain navy or charcoal tailored shorts (must be tailored – no sports shorts, cycling shorts, denim or tight-fitting shorts) 
  • Collared plain white shirt
  • Plain navy socks or tights

Phased Out Item

  • Navy jumper with school crest and gold trim

Please note that from September 2026 the navy jumper will no longer form part of the school uniform and will no longer be restocked by our supplier. Students who already own this item may continue to wear it. Limited remaining stock may be purchased whilst supplies last. 

 

Year 10 – Year 11 (from September 2026)

Students in Years 10 and 11 may continue to wear the current black uniform during the 2026–2027 academic year.

Please note that stock of some black uniform items is now limited. Where black uniform items are no longer available, students may purchase and wear the equivalent navy uniform items.

Current Black Uniform

  • Collared plain white shirt (to be worn with trousers and school tie)
  • Open neck plain white shirt (to be worn with pleated tartan skirt and school pin)
  • Black blazer with school crest
  • Black jumper with school crest
  • Plain black trousers (no leggings, jeans or tight-fitting trousers - please refer to our uniform supplier for approved styles)
  • Plain black tailored shorts (must be tailored – no sports shorts, cycling shorts, denim or tight-fitting shorts).
  • Pleated tartan skirt (knee or long length).
  • School house tie/ house pin for students wearing the tartan skirt
  • Plain black socks or tights

New Navy Uniform Option

Year 10 and Year 11 students may also wear the new navy uniform detailed in the Year 7 – Year 9 section above.

 

PE KIT

Compulsory Branded Items

The following items must be purchased with the school logo:

  • Training top with school crest

Optional Branded or Plain Alternatives

Parents may choose either branded or plain versions of the following items. These should be navy for students in Years 7 to 9 and black for Years 10 and 11.

  • Multisport top
  • Football shorts
  • ¼ zip training top
  • Skort
  • Leggings
  • Training pants

Additional Requirements

  • Coolmax socks
  • Appropriate sports footwear

 

OTHER ITEMS

  • Smart outdoor coat – dark in colour (leather, leather-look, denim, hoodies and sweatshirts are not permitted. Large logos or writing are not allowed)
  • Shoes – plain black leather-look shoes only. Canvas shoes or trainers are not permitted.
  • Headscarves – plain black or navy blue only
  • Sports footwear for PE only – sports trainers and football boots

It is important to note that all students will require football boots. These must be moulded rubber or plastic studs (firm or soft ground versions). Metal studs/blades and AstroTurf trainers are not permitted. This is to ensure students can safely use our indoor 3G AstroTurf pitch.

 

JEWELLERY, MAKE UP AND APPEARANCE

Students in Years 7 to 11 are not permitted to wear make-up.

For clarity:

  • Nail varnish is not permitted
  • False nails are not permitted
  • False eyelashes are not permitted

Discreet make-up is permitted in Years 12 and 13 only. 

Students may wear:

  • One wristwatch
  • Small stud or small sleeper earrings only.

Hooped earrings and additional jewellery are not permitted.

Items that are not permitted may be confiscated until the end of the half term, when they may be collected from Student Services.

 

SUPPLY

Uniform should be purchased directly from our uniform supplier, SWI Schoolwear.

Orders can be delivered either to your home address or to school.

Uxbridge High School only holds a very limited stock of uniform items and does not have facilities for uniform try-ons.

Please note that uniform purchased elsewhere may not meet the school’s uniform requirements in terms of quality or specification.

ESSENTIAL EQUIPMENT

It is important that students arrive on time and well equipped for every lesson they attend. This prevents disruption to their own learning as well as the learning of others and allows teachers to make the maximum use of teaching time available.

Please find below a list of equipment every student must have for every lesson. If they need to replenish any items, these are available for purchase on Arbor, which will then be distributed to students in form time.

  • Student Knowledge Organiser (provided by the school termly)
  • 2 black pens
  • 1 green pen
  • Coloured pencils
  • 2 sharpened pencils (with eraser if possible)
  • 1 eraser/rubber (if pencil doesn’t have an eraser)
  • 1 pencil sharpener
  • 1 highlighter pen
  • 1 30cm ruler
  • 1 glue stick
  • 1 geometry set
  • 1 scientific calculator
  • 1 pencil case

Tippex or other correction fluids are not allowed in school.

Students can purchase a pencil case and other equipment via Arbor which contains most of the essential stationery items, see below.
