Principals Weekly Update

Summer Term Begins at Uxbridge High School
We are delighted to welcome students back to Uxbridge High School for the start of an exciting Summer Term. In our first weekly vlog, we shared key updates with families, including important thank yous, upcoming events and how we continue to strengthen teaching and learning across the school.
A Thank You to Our School Community
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to all students, staff and parents involved in the Easter ski trip. It was wonderful to hear how well our students represented the school and how quickly they developed their skiing skills. Experiences like this remain an important part of our school tradition, made possible through the continued support of our community.
We also thank our Year 11 and Year 13 students, alongside their families, for their commitment to the Easter revision sessions. These sessions play a vital role in preparing students for their upcoming examinations.
Supporting Students Through Exams
As exams approach, we are committed to working closely with parents to ensure every student is fully prepared. We will be hosting a Year 11 Exam Preparation Evening on Thursday 23 April, where parents will receive guidance on how best to support their child during this important period. The evening will also provide a clear overview of the exam process and expectations.
Staff Training and Continuous Improvement
Prior to the start of term, staff took part in a training morning focused on delivering the highest standard of education. Key areas included ensuring all students can access the curriculum, adapting teaching to meet individual needs, and strengthening feedback practices so teachers can continue to refine their lessons. There was also a strong focus on final exam preparation strategies for Year 11 and Year 13 students.
Technology Week: Sustainability in Action
This week, we are celebrating Technology Week, led by our Head of Technology, Mr Buckley. The focus this year is on sustainability, particularly reducing and reusing plastics. Students across different year groups are engaging in creative projects, from designing recycled-material lamps to repurposing plastic bottles into functional products.
Through these activities, students are encouraged to think critically about environmental responsibility and how design and technology can contribute to a more sustainable future.
We look forward to sharing more highlights with you throughout the term. Thank you, as always, for your continued support.
