On 18th October 2018, our Year 11 drama students went to watch ‘The Woman in Black’ at the Fortune Theatre as part of their component 3 drama exam, for which they will be evaluating performance skills and elements in the GCSE exam.
On Friday 12th October 2018, five Year 9 students participated in the ‘Target Mars’ event at Brunel University. This science trip enabled our students to develop an understanding of space sciences such as how to survive on mars and life on board the international space station. The day combined excitement of a mission to explore life on mars, and a combination of hands-on physics, chemistry, and biology activities to give the students a really unforgettable real-life experience.
A group of students from Uxbridge High School were asked to enter the EFL Brentford Girls’ Cup 2018. A selection of girls across Year 7 and 8, who had shown a keen interest and attended Brentford FC training sessions, were chosen.
Thirty students represented Uxbridge High School in the borough cross country championships, held at Vyners School playing fields on Wednesday 21st November. Students from Years 7, 8 & 9 took on the challenging course in the cold, but thankfully dry conditions.
Students were invited to Allianz Park on Friday 26th October 2018, to watch the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars in their open training session.
Sixth form students offered to act as volunteers at Christmas shopping event on Friday 16th November 2018 in Uxbridge High Street.
On Friday 12th October 2018, six Year 8 students participated in the STEM forensic science event: ‘CSI Dead on Time’ at Brunel University. In addition to reinforcing core scientific concepts, this exciting science trip is designed to help students to develop problem solving and critical thinking skills in STEM, through teamwork and collaboration.
Over the course of a three-week programme, students attended two seminars and undertook a day trip to Poland to visit the town of Oświęcim, Auschwitz I and Auschwitz Birkenau.

On Monday 1st October 2018, five Year 9 students attended the Target Mars event at Brunel University, with the aim to develop an understanding of how to survive on Mars and life on board the International Space Station, all whilst competing against other schools through a range of science activities.
