Principals Weekly Update

Working Together for a Successful Half Term

As we begin a new half term, our Principal welcomes students and families back following the break and shares some key priorities for the weeks ahead, with a focus on collaboration between home and school to help every student achieve their full potential.

Working Together Towards Our Gold Standards

At Uxbridge High School our ambition is for every young person to experience the full breadth of our curriculum and achieve our Gold Standards. Our principal highlights the importance of working together with parents and carers to make this possible.

Following the introduction of our new year group newsletters last half term, families are encouraged to share feedback and suggestions. A further edition will be shared at the end of this half term, continuing to strengthen communication between school and home.

Improving Communication Through Arbor

This half term we are looking to raise the bar in how we use Arbor to communicate student progress. Parents and carers are encouraged to look out for further information about how they can access Arbor and regularly keep track of their child's progress, whatever year group they are in.

Post and Prep: Building Positive Learning Habits

Post and Prep is now an established part of our students' learning routines, supporting independent study and progress at home. Thank you to the parents and students who have already shared feedback. We will continue to review and develop this approach throughout the half term.

High Expectations and the Brilliant Basics

Louisa Seymour, Principal, also highlights the importance of maintaining high expectations across the school community. This includes attendance, uniform, behaviour and daily routines.

With attendance at Uxbridge High School remaining well above national and London averages, we are grateful to parents and carers for continuing to work alongside us to ensure students attend school regularly and are ready to learn.

Our school uniform also plays an important role in creating a smart appearance and a strong sense of belonging, and we thank families for their continued support.

Looking Ahead

We want this to be another fantastic half term for our students. Parents and carers who have questions or would like advice on supporting their child's progress are encouraged to contact a member of the Leadership Team, their Head of Learning or another member of staff.

By working together, maintaining high expectations and supporting our young people, we can ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed and achieve our Gold Standards.
