Year 11 Students Explore Higher Education with the University of Cambridge
Our Year 11 students recently took part in a university outreach workshop delivered by Peterhouse College, University of Cambridge, providing a valuable insight into higher education and the opportunities available at competitive universities.
During the session, students explored the university application process, what universities look for in prospective applicants and how university life differs from their current experience at school. The workshop also gave students the opportunity to ask questions, challenge their understanding and learn more about the different pathways available to them after secondary education.
The session forms part of our commitment to broadening students' horizons and raising aspirations. At Uxbridge High School, we want every student to feel encouraged to explore ambitious goals and understand the opportunities open to them, whatever their starting point or future aspirations.
Through our Inclusive by Design approach, we carefully consider the experiences and opportunities we provide to ensure students are appropriately supported, challenged and encouraged to reach their potential. Providing access to university outreach and meaningful encounters with higher education institutions is one way we help students develop their confidence, recognise their strengths and consider pathways they may not have previously thought possible.
