Principals Weekly Update

Weekly Vlog Update

Hello everyone, welcome to the penultimate vlog of the spring term. As we approach the end of term, we wanted to share some key updates from this week, as well as look ahead to the coming weeks.

Ramadan, Eid and Reflection

This week, students have taken part in assemblies focused on Ramadan and the upcoming celebration of Eid al-Fitr.

We would like to thank our parents and wider community for supporting students who have been observing Ramadan. Across the school we have been sharing the meaning behind this important time, helping all students to understand not only the practice of fasting but also the wider values it represents.

Ramadan encourages reflection, self-discipline and kindness. It is also an opportunity for all of us, regardless of background, to think about how we can improve ourselves and support others. As we move into spring, this message of reflection and renewal links closely with a sense of hope for the months ahead.

We also recognise that this can be a challenging time for many families. Please know that we value your continued support and are here to work in partnership with you to ensure every student feels supported and able to succeed.

To all families celebrating, we wish you a joyful and peaceful Eid at the end of this week.

A Focus on Hope and Community

Alongside this, our assemblies have also focused on the theme of hope. As the days become lighter and we move further into spring, it is a natural time to reflect on what we can control and how we can continue to support young people in achieving their goals.

One of the most rewarding aspects of school life is seeing the ambition and determination of our students. With the continued support of parents and carers, we want to ensure every young person feels motivated, confident and hopeful about their future.

Supporting Year 11 and Year 13

Year 11 and Year 13 students have now completed their final round of practice exams. This provides valuable information for teachers to plan the final stages of preparation ahead of the summer examinations.

Attendance remains crucial during this time. We kindly ask parents to avoid scheduling appointments during the school day wherever possible, so that students do not miss important lessons and revision opportunities.

There is a comprehensive programme of support in place, including after-school interventions, Easter revision sessions and additional subject-specific support. Some departments are also offering weekend and online sessions to further support students in their preparation.

We recognise that this is a demanding time for both students and families but these final weeks of focused effort can make a significant difference. Students who engage fully and make the most of these opportunities are best placed to feel confident and prepared when they enter their exams.

Looking Ahead

As we approach the end of term, we would like to thank all parents and carers for your continued support. It plays a vital role in helping our students succeed.

We hope you enjoy the improving weather and, for those celebrating, have a wonderful Eid. We look forward to sharing our final update of the term with you next week.
