Science Week was a huge success in March, with over 200 students participating in various activities during lunchtime with Mr Sarai and Ms Toraub. We kicked off Science Week with a rather fiery start, with both teachers setting students' hands alight!
From 9th to 11th March a group of students visited the University of York to take part in the CanSat UK Competition.
Theatre trip to the Royal Shakespeare Theatre in Stratford-upon-Avon to see Julius Caesar
Year 10 drama students were treated to free tickets to the RSC production of Julius Caesar on Thursday 23rd March.
Having completed their table tennis officiating course in January, 18 Year 11 GCSE PE students attended the borough table tennis tournaments in early March, in order to put their officiating skills to use as part of their GCSE PE practical assessment.
On 6th March, a small group of A Level English students attended a lecture on Dorian Gray at City Temple, Holborn.
On 1st March, Year 13 students attended an all-day event at Brunel University to study the techniques of DNA extraction and gel electrophoresis.
Students from Years 7, 8 and 10 were invited to watch the musical ‘Matilda’ on the evening of Wednesday 1st March. The students, Mr Emery and Ms Das thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
On 1st March 2017, five Year 12 students attended a Mock Trial Day at Brunel University
Sixty Year 9 drama students were taken to see award winning musical, The Lion King on Wednesday 1st March 2017.
A number of students in Year 9 have been selected to be part of the ‘Brilliant Club’ in recognition of their continual hard work throughout school.
On 26th January, a group of Y13 students visited the annual Media Conference where they met journalists, film and sound producers and heard lectures about how their work comes together. They were also given insights about how the media industry works and how to be successful in pursuing a career in this domain.
