  • WE Day

    On 6th March, 13 students attended the UK celebration of WE Day - a world-wide gathering of students from all backgrounds who come together to 'Get Doing' for the betterment of their school, their community and the whole world. WE Day is a global movement that was inspired by the tragic death of Iqbal Masih, to create change in an individualised world. WE Day brings large corporations, charitable organisations and schools together to do more for the world around them.

    Students heard from Naomi Campbell on the importance of activism as young people; Nicole Scherzinger on empowering yourself through communication; Iskra Lawrence on self-esteem and self-belief and Nadja Swarovski on the importance of maintaining our planet through conserving water. They also heard from the Duke of Sussex.

  • German Revision Conference

    On Monday 11th March, thirteen GCSE German students travelled to London to take part in a revision conference. Students had the opportunity to ask questions to an examiner and gain some tips and tricks to help prepare them for their forthcoming German exams.

    Their listening and pronunciation skills were put to the test as they joined in with some German tongue twisters, including the challenging "Sascha schickt sich selbst schicke Schuhe vom Schuhgeschäft im Schwarzwald". They also practiced some of the core skills, such as being able to describe a photo and translating from German into English.

    All students received a pack full of useful vocabulary and reminders about tenses, word order and pronunciation, and can use this to help push themselves towards the top grades in their exams!

    On Wednesday 30th January, fifteen girls from Year 7 and Year 8 competed in the Hillingdon Dance Festival, held at Bishopshalt School. They competed against different schools from the local area for the opportunity to enter the London Youth Games Final.

    On Saturday 8th December 2018, music students in Years 9 and 10 had the opportunity to attend a music concert at the O2 Indigo in Greenwich, featuring two-time Mobo Award-winning artist, Guvna B and other artists including Faith Child and LZ7. The event had a Christian tone and involved an invitation to explore the Christian faith further.
