UXBRIDGE HIGH SCHOOL KEY STAGE 4 RESULTS 2017

Staff at Uxbridge High school are delighted that GCSE examination results are the best the school has seen for a number of years. Students have met and exceeded National Averages across the board.

Combined English and maths scores have substantially increased this year. Staff and students alike are extremely pleased that their hard work with new courses in both these core subjects has reaped reward. A large number of students are celebrating achieving the new highest grades of 8 or 9. 

The sciences have maintained outstanding results with 100% achieving A*-B in triple science (biology, chemistry and physics) and both additional / core science scoring highly and well above national average. Congratulations to the following students who achieved A* in all three sciences: Sian Ayres, Tom Berlad, Rajan Bhatoy, Hodman Mohamed and Sandra San. Congratulations to staff and students in our other highly performing subjects which include French, electronics, business and Spanish. 

The number of students achieving the top grades in a range of academic subjects (EBacc) has increased from last year by 11% and now stands at 32%.

38% of old style GCSE entries were awarded A* - B and 15 students achieved six or more A* & A/9 & 8 grades. Congratulations to our top performing students who include:

Gurleen Arora – 4 A*s and 4 As in a range of subjects, a 7 and 8 in English and an 8 in maths.

Sian Ayres – 4 A*s and 3 As in a range of subjects, 9 in Maths and 8 in both English literature and English language.

Tom Berlad – 4 A*s, an A and 3 Bs in a range of subjects, 8 in English and maths.

Rajan Bhatoy – 4 A*s and 3 As in a range of subjects, a 9 in maths and 8 in English.

Elena Guta – 2 A*s, 2 As and 2 Bs in a range of subjects, a 9 in English literature and 8 in maths and English language.

Esme Henry – 6 As and 2 Bs in a range of subjects, a 7 in English literature and 8s in English language and maths.

Kavinash Jeyarajah – 2 A*s, 4 As and 2 Bs in a range of subjects and an 8 in maths.

Vishal Joshi – 3 A*s, 2As and 3 Bs in a range of subjects, 9 in English literature and English language and an 8 in maths.

Zarn Makwana – 1 A*, 4 As and 2 Bs in a range of subjects and an 8 in maths.

Hodman Mohamed – 5 A*s, 2 As and a B in a range of subjects, a 9 in English and 8s in English literature and maths.

Amin Narimani – 2 A*s, 3 As and 2 Bs in a range of subjects and an 8 in maths.

Alexander Old – 6 As and 2 Bs in a range of subjects, 8s in English literature and maths. Sandra San – 6 A*s and an A in a range of subjects, 8s in English literature and maths. Isabel Tuffin – 1 A*, 4 As and 2 Bs in a range of subjects, 9s in English language and English literature.

Morgan Welsh – 2 A*, 3As and a B in a range of subjects, a 9 in English literature and 8 in maths.

Mr Clemens, Principal said ‘This is a landmark year for the school. Hard and dedicated work by staff and students alike has paid off. Everyone should be justifiably proud of what we have achieved. It is a pleasure today to be enrolling our students into the UHS Sixth Form. They have fantastic prospects given their GCSE results.
